For their first date, they decided on two things: sushi and axe-throwing. Before they even met, there was already a sign that this might be something special. After Doyle learned that one of Alyssa's favorite bands was " The Counting Crows" he named their reservation " Axe-identally in love" She was laughing before the date even started.

The evening only got better from there. They shared sushi (while Doyle confidently ignored chopsticks & solely ate with his hands) threw axes, laughed nonstop, riffing off the others jokes & managed to effortlessly talk for hours. By the end of the night,both agreed on something neither of them had said before: It was the best first date of their lives.

Thankfully, one amazing date turned into another and then another. As two people who came into this relationship with children they already loved fiercely, building their lives together has been more than just the two of them. Its been about creating a family they chose filled with laughter, support & plenty of unforgettable memories.

The morning after that very first date, Alyssa called her friend and left a voicemail that said, " I cannot believe you're not answering the phone right now, listen to me very carefully you need to call me back because I just had the most amazing first date and Ana, I think I just met my husband"

And for once, Alyssa was right.

Now here they are- still laughing, still choosing each other every day & getting ready to spend the rest of their lives together.
